Artworks
Location: Endoscopy, York Hospital, York, North Yorkshire
Client: York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Medium: Eco high pressure laminate
A relaxing scheme of wall panels featuring hand drawn scenes from around York and positive poetic verses. The artwork (comprising over 140 individually mounted panels) was developed in consultation with the staff and patients of the old Endoscopy unit and created a signature theme to the new Endoscopy unit, appearing in 26 locations in waiting rooms, corridors and recovery bays.
A unique collection of customisable murals, entitled Down Memory Lane, designed exclusively for Tektura Wallcoverings which create talking points or act as way-finding markers. All designs are hand-drawn, and Tektura can print them as continuous wallcoverings, window graphics or mounted artwork. The collections are each made up of 10 individual 'scenes' which can be shuffled in any sequence and are particularly suited to long feature walls. Each design can be printed up to 3 metres high, can be of any length, and colours can be customised. Whether used in a health care or a commercial setting, research shows that scenes depicting nature or familiar landmarks can improve mood, enhance performance and aid memory.
